Private dining options at Sugar & Olives come in a variety of flavors—host a cocktail party for friends from the neighborhood, a bridal shower luncheon, a mom’s night out, or create a group cooking lesson for a corporate event—whatever the concept, we’ll help you design a truly unique event. Dates may be booked up to six months in advance.
the space
Our informal, lounge-style atmosphere makes your evening (or afternoon) more fun than a traditional sit-down restaurant. We can accomodate plenty of guests—12 at long dining tables in our pantry room, or up to 80 in the entire facility. Seating options vary, and guests can enjoy seeing all the action by virtue of the open kitchen, whether or not they are participating in a cooking lesson.
the food
All private dining menus are custom-designed according to your tastes, but if you’re at a loss and just want something great, give us a few of your faves (or least faves!), and we’ll come up with a plan. Instructional parties can also be designed around one of our current cooking class offerings and adapted to your preferences or number of guests. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and we can always accommodate gluten-free diets or other food allergies. We have a nifty wine/liquor/beer list [translation: we have a full liquor license] and specialize in creative cocktails using local spirits paired with flavored syrups that are home-made. (We make a mean hot toddy.)
the cost
Private dining prices are calculated on a per-person basis, and can include one or two glasses of wine per guest. Connecticut sales tax and gratuity are additional.
